Karoline Fesser (*1983) studied at Aachen University of Applied Sciences, her diploma in 2010 was a project with the Dutch label Leolux. She worked for the design magazine Form in Basel and the Dutch designer Ineke Hans in Arnhem. In 2012, she founded her own studio and has since worked in both freelance and permanent projects for design culture, furniture labels and industry. She is part of the design team at Agrob Buchtal since 2017. Her products have already been shown at numerous trade fairs and exhibitions, including Cologne, Kortrijk, Milan, Paris and New York.
As a member of the Generation Köln she was involved in cooperations with the Werkraum Bregenzerwald and CIAV Meisenthal and their portrayal on the basis of products and exhibitions.
Design thinking: Karoline is a researcher. She examines existing structures and patterns of behavior, as well as the manufacture and use of products. Her design process is like a study. The products she designs are the results of her research. Karoline prefers projects that raise awareness of things and their relevance. Her focus is on everyday objects and the relationship between people and products. Karoline is particularly interested in the mutual relationship between material components such as form, function and production as well as the immaterial value that arises through the use of the objects.
